Comments: This is a beautiful nursery located in the secluded town of Pacifica, Ca.  It is on a hill that overlooks the Pacific Ocean.  Nancy, the owner, is very helpful and sweet.  If you would like to meet her, she's usually there on Sundays unless she is working on a special project.   She will answer any growing questions through email or if you go to her nursery.  This is a walk-in nursery which is only open on the weekends from 10 am-5pm.  Nancy is also the one who taught me how to re-pot orchids, and she will happily re-pot and divide your orchids for a small materials fee.  Just make sure you make an appointment to be sure she will be at the nursery.  If you're going to buy orchids from her nursery, it is safe to buy the orchids in the gift room or the sun room outside of the greenhouse without worrying about scale or mealybugs.  If you're going to buy the orchids in the greenhouse watch for mealy bugs and scale.

Comments: This is the nursery right behind the Shelldance Orchid Gardens greenhouse.  Dan is a jolly man who is extremely helpful and informational.  I absolutely love his greenhouse.  It is an organized mess of orchids.  There are so many orchids in there that I felt like I was walking in a jungle.  There are orchids growing everywhere from the ceilings, to the walls, and even on the benches.  This is an appointment only nursery, so email or call him and he will reply promptly.  He has a boarding service, and a retail business.  Just make sure if you want something, hang on to it, otherwise you will not be able to find it again.

Comments: Tom Perlite is a very well educated man who is very accomplished at growing orchids.  He has won several orchid competition in the US, UK, and Japan.  I admire him.  His nursery is located in a suburban neighborhood in South San Francisco.   It is an appointment only nursery, so make sure you make an appointment and confirm it the day before you visit it.  I have not yet visited his nursery, but I have met him when he was setting up for the San Mateo Garden Show.

Napa Valley Orchids
Owner: Debra Atwood
Location: (call or email her for location)
Phone Number: (707)- 255- 8266
Email: napavalleyorchids@gmail.com
Website: http://www.napavalleyorchids.com/

Comments: The location of the nursery is actually a greenhouse connected to her own private home.  So, I can't give you the information of her residence.  Her greenhouse is an appointment-only greenhouse, so call beforehand or email her before you visit.   Anyways, her greenhouse is a perfect stop to go to California's famous wine country, Napa Valley.  Her greenhouse is organized with some of the weirdest and most beautiful orchids I have ever seen.  I bought my Dendrobium Amethystoglossum there, and I have never regretted it.  She grows only intermediate orchids.  Debra, herself, is a sweet lady who is obsessed with her orchids.  She is a person that you will enjoy talking to.

Kawamoto Orchids

Online Store: http://myworld.ebay.com/kawamotoorchids/?_trksid=p4340.l2559

This is an online orchid seller from Hawaii.  This provider sells the majority of its orchids on ebay.  I really enjoy buying from Kawamoto orchids because they have the species and hybrids I want without moving from my room.  Also, the orchids are extremely healthy, cheap, and wrapped meticulously for shipping.  Still, I regret buying from then online because when I saw them at a show, their orchids were the same with the same low price without the hefty shipping price.  So, if you can't find them at a show, I recommend buying from their online store.  If you live in California, just wait for them to go to show, and you'll get better deals.
